We call Disney the #1 “Smile” company. Because it’s business is to put a smile on our faces, no matter how young or old we are.
Let’s take a look back when we were little kids and you can see lots of smiles on our faces . . . thanks to Disney!
We used to have annual passes every year. Disneyland and Disney World raised prices for their annual passes last month.
People are immune to price increases at Disney. They’ll keep renewing their annual passes.
Shangai Disneyland sold out their tickets in 5 minutes after going on sale at midnight this past Monday, March 28th.
The park opens June 16th. The 2nd and 3rd days are sold out too.
Now people in mainland China can buy their own photo autograph books to store their photos of their happy memories.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out on DVD/Blue-Ray next Tuesday April 5th.
Many will buy it for their collection. Plus, it has extra footage and lots of extras.
It is #1 domestically with $934 million in the USA and #3 worldwide with $2 billion gross.
Disney released Zootopia this quarter. The movie’s performance at the box office has surpassed even the loftiest expectations. Zootopia has made $718 million worldwide so far.
Disney has 4 movies coming out in the 2nd quarter. Two should each make $1 billion worldwide gross.
1. Captain America: Civil War which comes out May 6th
2. Alice: Through the Looking Glass which comes out May 27th
Both Avengers movies and the first Alice movie made $1 billion worldwide gross.
The Jungle Book (which comes out April 15th) and Finding Dory (which comes out June 17th) could pull in $500 million – $750 million worldwide gross.
Depending on how successful these movies are, you could see new attractions at Disneyland and Disney World.
Just like you see Johnny Deep’s wax statue of him portraying Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
Or the upcoming Star Wars Land being built.
